How to get here

ADG lies centrally between the economic regions of the Rhine-Ruhr and Rhine-Main: Directly connected to the highway A3, Montabaur castle is easy and quick to reach by car. The ICE trains are even faster, taking only 35 minutes to reach Cologne and Frankfurt am Main and their respective airports.

By car

Travelling by car on highway A3 take the exit 40 "Montabaur". Follow the signs to the City center initially and then the ones for “Schloss Montabaur” in order to reach the Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften (ADG). If you are using a satellite navigation device, please enter “Schlossweg” as your destination address.

Once reaching Montabaur Castle, please proceed to reception, located right in front of the castle, to collect your keys which will also provide access to the other facilities and to the relevant parking area.

By train

Montabaur enjoys excellent connections within the European rail network via an InterCityExpress (ICE) Railway Station. Destinations such as Frankfurt and Frankfurt Airport, Cologne and Cologne-Bonn Airport can be reached directly in less than one hour with trains running nearly every hour.

From the train station, you can either take one of the taxis waiting in front of the station or enjoy a nice 15 minute walk. Walking straight towards the castle which is already in sight you will cross a small river on a pedestrian bridge and will be led through a tree-lined, uphill street to ADG.

For guests of Montabaur Castle, special train fares are available. Please contact us for further information or have a look at www.bahn.com for general information.

From the airport

Closest airports to Montabaur are Frankfurt International (FRA) or Cologne-Bonn airport (CGN). Arriving by plane, we recommend going from the airport to Montabaur by ICE train (InterCityExpress - fast train). You will reach Montabaur castle in as little as 35 minutes (www.bahn.com) from both airports. For further information on train connections see section “by train” above.
